You Can’t Sing Jazz In Moose Jaw

There’s a club in Canada
In a little town called Moose Jaw
Filled with farmers and railroad men
In Moose Jaw life is raw

They call themselves simple folk
As proud as proud can be
You can’t sing jazz in Moose jaw
But you can still be free

If you sing in Moose Jaw
They’ll come from miles around
You can be a star in that town
No matter how you sound

I spent two weeks in Moose Jaw
It’s a strange place I know
If you sing jazz in Moose Jaw
They’ll tell you where to go

Sometimes I think of Moose Jaw
When I think of my past sins
I think of old boys in the north
And wonder what shape they’re in
